It was a beautiful night at the Miller Motorsports Park. With Catherine's uncanny luck, we had amazing front row seats for the finish line. It was crazy to be so close to the riders as they flew past us.
We got to see our buddy Bobke again. Still amazed at how much smaller he is in person, but huge in personality!
Taylor was a very gracious stage winner! He really wanted it and he got it, in spite of sortof blowing the two previous stages. So great to see him pushing it to the limit. Evidentally his time was similar to Cancellara's over a similar time period. Watch out Fabian!
And of course, the incredible Levi Leipheimer! What an athlete, and what a great winner!
He was so sweet to sign the little girl's shirts, an even gave her his podium bouquet before he went back up to stand with the stage winners. It was crazy to be right there with him...once again, Cath's ridiculous luck had us in exactly the right place! I wonder if it works for parking places at the mall. The video below is Levi finishing the time trial. He was two seconds off of Taylor Phinney, but had the tour in the bag by now, and went on to win the whole thing on Sunday.
Watch him zoom by and you'll know why he is such an amazing cyclist!
